Colorado is a four-season playground — and every season unlocks different adventures in VanGoat.

Spring (March–May) 🌸

Spring in Colorado is unpredictable — sunshine and snow in the same day. But that's the beauty of a campervan: your home travels with you.

Where to go:

• Colorado National Monument (Grand Junction) — Desert canyon scenery, warm temps, no crowds

• Garden of the Gods (Colorado Springs) — Stunning red rock formations

• Great Sand Dunes National Park — Magical in spring light, Zapata Falls starting to flow

Pro tip: Many mountain passes are still closed. Stick to lower elevations and the Western Slope.

Summer (June–August) ☀️

Peak season. Everything is open, wildflowers are exploding, and the high country is calling.

Where to go:

• Rocky Mountain National Park — Trail Ridge Road opens late May. Drive it. Hike it. Camp it.

• Maroon Bells (Aspen) — Arguably the most photographed peaks in Colorado

• Black Canyon of the Gunnison — Underrated national park with dramatic canyon views

• Steamboat Springs — Hot springs, mountain biking, laid-back Colorado vibes

Pro tip: Book campsites early. VanGoat's pop-top and fans keep you comfortable without AC.

Fall (September–October) 🍂

Colorado's fall colors are legendary. Aspens turn gold, crowds thin out, weather is crisp and perfect.

Where to go:

• Kenosha Pass — Best aspen groves in the state, dispersed camping right off US-285

• Last Dollar Road (Telluride to Ridgway) — Dirt road through the best fall color in Colorado. VanGoat can handle it.

• Independence Pass (near Aspen) — Usually open through mid-October

• Guanella Pass — Close to Denver, incredible colors, free dispersed camping

Pro tip: Peak color is usually late September. Weekdays are far less crowded.

Winter (November–February) ❄️

VanGoat is heated and ready for winter adventures. Some roads close, but Colorado's winter scenery is unmatched.

Where to go:

• Hot springs loop — Mount Princeton, Cottonwood, and Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs

• Ski town basecamp — Park VanGoat near Breckenridge, Vail, or Winter Park and skip the expensive hotel

• Moab, UT (just over the border) — Desert temps are mild in winter, crowds are gone

Pro tip: The Truma heater keeps VanGoat warm even in single-digit temps. Bring layers, but don't worry about being cold inside.

Year-Round Packing Tips

No matter the season, VanGoat comes equipped. But bring:

• Clothes for layers (Colorado weather changes fast)

• Hiking boots or trail shoes

• Sunscreen and sunglasses (high altitude = stronger UV)

• Reusable water bottles (hydration is key above 5,000 ft)

• Your sense of adventure 🐐
