Renting a campervan for the first time? Here's everything you need to know about VanGoat before your trip.
The Basics
VanGoat is a 2023 Winnebago Solis 59P on a Ram ProMaster chassis. At 19'9", it fits in a standard parking spot. Drives like a large van, not an RV. If you've driven a cargo van or large SUV, you'll feel right at home.
Sleeping
VanGoat sleeps 4. The Murphy bed folds down from the rear wall into a queen — bedding and pillows provided. The pop-top roof reveals a second sleeping area with a mattress pad. Perfect for kids or a second couple.
Kitchen
Two-burner propane stove, sink connected to 20-gallon fresh water tank, and a refrigerator that runs off the house battery. We include pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, and a portable propane camp stove for outdoor cooking.
Bathroom
VanGoat has a wet bath — combined shower and toilet in a compact enclosed space. Cassette-style toilet (simpler than you think — we'll walk you through it). Hot water inside shower plus an outside shower for rinsing off after hikes.
Heat & Cooling
Truma Combi Eco furnace heats the van quickly, even in cold weather. No AC — the pop-top, USB fans, and Colorado mountain air keep things comfortable. We include portable heaters for cold nights.
Power
Roof-mounted solar panel keeps the house battery charged. Powers lights, fridge, water pump, USB ports, and fans. Can plug into campground electrical hookups, but designed to be fully off-grid.
Water
20 gallons fresh, 20 gallons grey. Lasts 2–3 days with normal use. Quick showers and mindful dish washing extend it. Refill at campgrounds or water fill stations.
